Choose New Game from the game menu, or press and hold the BaseRunner icon on the Home Screen and choose New Game. Enter optional away and home names, add an optional timer, then tap Start Game. Cancel leaves your current game unchanged.

All five automatic scoring settings are on by default. Settings lets you independently control fourth-ball resets, strikeouts, third-out inning advances, manual-out count resets, and manual-inning resets. An automatic strikeout clears the count regardless of the manual-out setting; an automatic third out clears count and outs regardless of the manual-inning setting.

With the corresponding automatic action off, balls stop at three, strikes at two, and outs at two. A strikeout at two outs is also blocked if automatic inning advance is off. You can adjust the count manually or change the relevant option in Settings.

Choose Undo Last Action from the game menu to restore the whole scoring action, including automatic changes. New Batter clears only balls and strikes. Undo can also reverse New Game, restoring the previous team names and timer. History is available during the current app session; ordinary scoring Undo does not change the timer, themes, or preferences.

Choose a duration in New Game, or open Game Timer from the game menu. Quick picks start at 75, 90, 105, and 120 minutes; edit them to save your preferred durations. Start the timer manually from the scoreboard. Saving adjustments pauses it. A running timer keeps counting down when you leave the app or lock your phone.

When time runs out, the app uses a beep and vibration while it’s open, or a notification when it’s in the background. Check BaseRunner’s notification permission in iOS Settings and your device alert settings. Pausing, disabling, editing the timer, or starting a new game cancels the previous pending alert.

Start the game timer to show the Live Activity. Setting a timer does not start the Live Activity; you need to start the timer. Pausing removes the Live Activity from Dynamic Island. After a pause, the Lock Screen card remains for up to 15 minutes; resume to restore it. Availability depends on device support and your iOS Live Activity settings. Tap a card to return to the scoreboard.

Open Settings → Theme. Tap to apply, or long press or choose Preview to try a sample scoreboard. Use Theme applies your choice. Create Theme lets you customize a copy, including hex and RGB colors. Use the theme share action to send a .baserunnertheme file or save it to Files; import in Themes or open a received file to review a draft. Cancel keeps your saved theme unchanged.

No. Share Score captures a themed score image when the preview opens. Final score changes the card’s heading only. Turn it off to use the inning as the heading. The share sheet sends only the image.

Scoring preferences, timer quick picks, and themes are saved independently of games. Your current game is saved on your device as you play. Undo history lasts only for the current app session. You can reopen the latest release notes in Settings → What’s New.
